I stayed here for a bit, making photos of the sea crashing onto the beach as the sun set. It was idyllic and moving. Warm sun rays sprayed across the edge of town and the cold water crashed. Once the sun was gone, it was time to walk the streets and mingle before dinner.
Behind the Images

-
The light bounces and plays along the alleyways of the Fes medina, where Moroccans wander this ambiguous labyrinth on foot every day.
-
Fall time in Paris means walks in the park and shopping for Christmas. The gardens and parks across the city fill with the golden autumn colors and the city transforms for it’s end of the year festivities.
-
It’s simplicity and elegance. Whether modern landscape photographers are proud of their emulations or not, when you see these scenes, I think you can’t help but shoot it and think “this is my ‘bliss’ shot”.
-
Here’s a shot from the immensely crowded Piazza di San Marco in Venice. Sometimes, if you go at the right time, you can find some quiet corners, even in these larger squares.
-
I stood on two corners for the next 45 minutes or so and tried to make photos of Parisians making their way in the rain. Their umbrellas were all different and the rain became the drama that the light wasn’t.
-
The temperature was whatever perfect is. It was idyllic and simple. Slow life presenting itself in the most beautiful way possible. That’s how I remember it.
-
As I walked, the overcast sky started to open, and the evening sun started peeking through. It was golden and glowing, it felt religious and deliberate.
-
In between the clouds, the sky lit up with tiny bright lights. I took several photos as the clouds rolled through each one different than the last, and all of them revealing a new set of stars.

During the day the arid emptiness holds its secrets. But when evening falls, all is revealed. The change in light reveals colors and textures that you couldn’t see before, and it’s suddenly like a whole new place.
